Could we see a Ford Fiesta by SVT?29 Mar

We all know the 2011 Ford Fiesta is going to take the aftermarket by storm, given its excitement associated with Ford’s Fiesta Movement, the social media integration & application, and the promises to see this little tuner car all tricked-out at this year’s SEMA show.  So what happens if Ford decides to play along with the multitude of aftermarket players?  We can think of nothing better.  It’s been a while since we’ve seen much of anything from the Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT), so perhaps this is a prime time to rekindle the efforts of the group?  Most any Ford donning the SVT badge commands respect, is known to perform, and most importantly–holds consumer value more so than its vanilla brethren.

Adding more to the story in the Fiesta Movement Chapter 226 Mar

And so the Ford Fiesta saga continues…  The next chapter in the Fiesta Movement keeps the first chapter’s momentum kinetic and brings on a whole new series of missions.  Mission 1 in chapter 2 engages the Fiesta agents to explore their communities to see just what makes them tick.  Wallscape murals will be created in order to serve as guides to the top 10 coolest places to check out in each city.  After the map-murals are completed, the artwork will be featured through several media channels in order to pump up excitement about the local area hot spots & more importantly, highlight the Ford Fiesta enthusiasm amongst the community.  Keep reading to check out the full scoop straight from Ford’s Press Release where you can spy a complete list of all of the participating cities where the murals will be created and visited directly by the Ford Fiesta!

2011 Ford Fiesta to be equipped with EcoBoost?18 Mar

We all know the tiny tuner-to-be is coming soon and summer o’ 2010 can’t get here fast enough.  Well, what if we told you the Ford Fiesta might arrive a bit faster than expected?  If the clever car spy shutterflies’ work is a direct gaze into the Blue Oval [crystal] ball, it’s a good chance we could see a turbocharged EcoBoost nestled between the strut towers of the 2011 Ford Fiesta.  These images show great hint toward the Fiesta’s chance to receive either the 1.6-liter or the 2.0-liter (~230 hp / ~240 tq) turbocharged I4 power plant set to arrive next year.

Notched right behind a modified Euro-spec front fascia is a nice, slim intercooler that is tastefully matched with blacked-out trim and is complemented by an attractive Fiesta body kit.  Add to that a unique rear diffuser modified for fitment with the Euro-spec rear bumper & a set of dual exhaust exits, and you’ve got what starts to really looks like something serious here.  We’re aren’t necessarily the betting types here at FiestaForums, but if we had to throw a dart at a choice between the 1.6-liter & the 2.0-liter, we’d hedge on it landing closer to the 1.6. That said, wouldn’t a turbo’d 2.0-liter in this little car be totally awesome?!?

Next phase of Fiesta Movement brings it local02 Mar

After a blazing initial success of the Ford Fiesta Movement, the decision has been made by Ford to continue the unfolding of the saga.  Chapter 2 in the Ford Fiesta Movement has kicked off with 20 teams of 2 agents taking the new 2011 Fiesta and bringing it to you, someplace nearby, or someplace you can easily find.  You know, local.  Their mission?  Take the Fiesta, get it out in the public eye, draw positive attention, and make the car something to be sought after.  The next phase in Ford’s media blitz builds upon one of the most successful and multi-pronged approaches in history.  They’ve successfully marketed a tech-laden automobile with the very tech they tie into the product.  As a result, social media, word of e-mouth, and general Internet campaigns have built up a respectable base of potential customers and many committed buyers.
