Ford Fiesta & fantastic festivals

The Ford Fiesta has been keeping pop culture, music fans, and loads of local communities on the edge of excellence throughout its online and real-world media campaign leading up to the car’s official launch coming very soon.  Now, music fans and Ford Fiesta customers alike will revel in the fact that the year’s hottest coming music festivals will be inundated with Ford’s hottest new small car.  It’s more than just showing up and looking pretty, however…

The 2011 Ford Fiesta is the title sponsor of the 10th annual Movement: Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival, which is to be held May 29-31 at Hart Plaza in Detroit, and later be the exclusive automotive partner of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, to be held June 10-13 in Manchester, Tennessee.  But as Ford’s Car Experiential Marketing Manager Jeff Eggen notes, the Ford Fiesta involvement in both events extends beyond the bounds of ho-hum signs and cars parked ever so neatly “over there”.

“The target consumers for Fiesta are huge music fans, and our goal is to connect with that community in a fun and meaningful way,” he said. “We want Fiesta to be a natural part of the scene so that it can be understood and championed by the people who are experiencing it.”

That’s pretty much what the Ford Fiesta has been all about–getting the word out on the pavement and putting the car in front of people–in more ways than just showing up.  The viral marketing motive that is the Fiesta Movement has done very well to bring a car everyone can relate to and commit it to nationwide events and community interests.  The outlet: social media.

“The Fiesta Movement enabled people to discover the car in a natural way while having fun with their friends,” said Eggen. “We will do the same thing at these music festivals – give people an opportunity to interact with the new Fiesta and let them spread the word to their family and friends.”

Like it or not, folks, social media is here to stay…and Ford has taken the lead in showing everyone just how it’s done in the commercial arena.
