Ford Fiesta shipping woes
Still waiting? Get in line. So sorry to rehash it, but some of the excitement surrounding the deliveries of many 2011 Ford Fiestas this summer is being deflated by Mother Nature. Hurricane Alex and Tropical Storm Bonnie were born to punish would-be Fiesta drivers with some seriously soggy wrath. Between the two natural happenings, Ford’s initial shipments of the 2011 Fiesta have been delayed upwards of 14 to 21 days due to washouts and railway failures near key US-Mexican railroad interchange points. Rest assured, as soon as the water clears, the railroads will be on top of their game to get the future Ford Fiesta fun freight flowing (say that 5 times fast!) smoothly.
It’s too bad these shipments are delayed and some Ford Fiesta owners will have to wait a couple weeks longer than expected to drive around in their hot little cars, but let’s be frank: the wait will make taking delivery that much sweeter. After all, Ford could say, “Sure, we’ll ship it. Now go down there in that mud/sand bog, likely laden with tar by now, and retrieve your prize.”
OK, maybe not, but still. Can buyers really be that inflamed about shipping delays due to acts of God? If they are, I hear He has a complaint department…YMMV.
