Mods galore... what about the power adders?

It seems like there are already a handful of parts available (or very soon to be available) for the Fiesta. Anyone heard anything about aftermarket power adders? I mean... with all the Ken Block video footage being flaunted around... how can we be expected to live w/ a normally aspirated car?? I've been hearing the ecoboost might make its way into the car...

If ford racing doesn't come out with a turbo, FSwerks will. I'm just hoping that their close relationship w/ ford will allow these to be added without breaking the warranty.

Turbo would be the way to go, powershift applies torque 100% of the time, so you'll never fall out of boost. Also, you'll gain a few mpg from the increased efficiency.

Have you considered any power adders yourself when you get your Ford Fiesta?

I've owned many high performance cars before, and honestly the only power adder that makes sense on the Fiesta would be a turbo. I have had a 2004 turbo ep hatch civic si, 1991 mr2 turbo, 2000 celica gt-s, and the car I own now is a 2007 Mustang GT.

On my civic si I noticed: increased mpg, increased power under part throttle without any boost, the car became quieter, I was able to pass cars on the highway without changing gears, and the car was much more fun to drive. I went from 28mpg mixed to 32+ after adding the turbo. Adding lightweight wheels/tires, underdrive pulleys, and lowering the car further increased mileage to about 35mpg.

Sounds like you've had a good history of getting bitten by the mod-bug!

Yup, I can tell you that you don't want to own an MR2! That was the hardest car I ever worked on, installing a downpipe took 2 days! I really hope the Fiesta is easy to work on, it looks like it will be.

I bet it'll be a fun little car to tune and tweak!
